THE FACTS OF 100% GRASS-FED & GRASS-FINISHED BEEF VS CONVENTIONALLY RAISED BEEF
Did You Know Our Cattle:
Are never confined to a stall or lot
Our cattle are ALWAYS free range; they can roam on the land and graze as intended. This provides a healthier environment for our animals and for us! Allowing our cattle to graze freely ensures less intense land use and improves soil health.
Are never exposed to hormones
We go beyond organic to the roots of how they were intended to be raised. Our cattle only ever have mom’s milk & grasses their entire lives, and THAT’S IT!
Are naturally leaner and more fit
Due to their natural upbringing, our 100% grass-fed and grass-finished cattle produce naturally lean meat, leading to more nutrient-rich beef and cleaner eating for the consumer overall.

Summerfield Farms' Roast Beef
Ingredients
- 2 ½ - 3 ½ pounds Summerfield Farms' 100% grass-fed and grass-finished eye of round roast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Summerfield Farms’ Steak and Burger Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary crushed
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- ¾ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¾ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
Instructions
- Remove your 100% grass-fed and grass-finished roast from the refrigerator and allow it to become room temperature (this takes 45 min to an hour).
- Preheat your oven to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Combine all the seasonings in a small bowl.
- Prepare your 100% grass-fed and grass-finished roast by patting it dry with paper towels. Drizzle with olive oil, and use your hands to rub the oil into the meat, ensuring you coat all sides.
- Sprinkle all sides, including the ends, with the seasoning mix. Place your roast on a rack in a roasting pan with the fat cap side facing up.
- Transfer to the preheated oven and roast for 15 minutes until nicely browned. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and continue to roast for another 40 to 50 minutes or until internal temperature reads 130 degree Fahrenheit and no more than 135 degrees Fahrenheit (medium rare). Begin checking the temperature after 35 minutes by inserting an instant-read thermometer through the center of the roast from the side. Watch it closely because the temperature can rise quickly towards the end of the cooking time. I don’t recommend cooking this roast beyond 135 degrees Fahrenheit or the most tender, delicious result.
- Remove the 100% grass-fed and grass-finished roast from the oven and allow it to rest for 20 to 30 minutes before slicing. Alternately, after the resting time, wrap the roast in foil and refrigerate it for several hours or overnight before slicing. It will be easier to slice thinly when chilled.
- Prepare how you like and ENJOY!
